Frequently Asked Questions About Our Program.
📚 Curriculum & Learning Approach
1. What subjects are included in the PACA homeschool curriculum? Our curriculum covers core subjects such as Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies, along with STEM, Character Education, Life Skills, and World Discovery. Each subject is carefully designed to support brain-based, play-based learning for Pre-K through 2nd grade students.
2. Is your curriculum printable or online? We offer both! You can choose between fully printable lesson plans and workbooks, digital access, or a hybrid option. All printed materials are mailed to you, while digital files can be accessed online through your account.
3. How is your program different from free or low-cost homeschool options? Unlike worksheet-based or app-only programs, Potter and Clay Academy uses a structured, child development-based approach. We offer lesson plans, virtual classes, live events, and parent support, creating a full homeschool experience that’s engaging, age-appropriate, and community-oriented — not just screen time or printables.
4. What does “brain-based learning” mean? Brain-based learning means we align our teaching methods with how children naturally develop and learn. Our curriculum includes movement, play, storytelling, and hands-on activities that help students retain knowledge, build confidence, and love learning.
5. What ages or grade levels does PACA serve? We currently serve Pre-K (ages 4+) through 2nd grade. Our lesson plans are flexible and can be adjusted based on your child’s developmental stage and readiness.
6. What makes your playdates and live classes different? Our live events are immersive, play-based, and themed around real-world learning. From STEM career role-plays to community-building games, kids learn through doing—not just watching.
7. Can I use PACA with multiple children? Yes! Each child should be registered individually to receive materials tailored to their grade level, but many families enjoy learning together with our flexible approach.
🖥️ Virtual Classes & Events
8. Do I have to attend the virtual classes? Virtual classes are optional but highly recommended. They provide structured time with a live teacher and give your child a chance to interact with peers, practice new skills, and receive guidance. If your schedule doesn’t allow it, you can still follow the curriculum independently at home.
9. What happens if I miss a live class or playdate? There’s no penalty for missing a class or event. We know life happens! While playdates and live classes are not recorded, the learning continues through your lesson plans and workbook materials, and you’re always welcome to join the next session.
10. Do you offer placement help for students who are advanced or behind? Absolutely. We provide simple screening tools and guidance to help you place your child in the right level. You can also reach out for a personal consult.

15. Can I start in the middle of the school year? Yes! Our flexible format allows families to start whenever they’re ready. We’ll guide you through onboarding so your child can jump in smoothly.
16. How long does a school day take? Most families complete their PACA lessons in about 2–4 hours a day, depending on your child’s pace and age. Our program is flexible so you can break learning into shorter sessions that work for your schedule.
17. Do I need to be a certified teacher to homeschool with PACA? Not at all. Our lesson plans and resources are designed for parents of all backgrounds. We give you the tools, structure, and support to confidently guide your child’s education—even if you’ve never taught before.
18. Do you offer support if I have questions during the school year? Yes! You’ll receive regular communication, parent support resources, and access to a teacher for questions. We also host occasional Q&A sessions and provide tips through our blog and email updates.
🕊️ Values & Beliefs
19. Is PACA religious or secular? PACA is a private homeschool program with a values-based foundation. While not a religious curriculum, we encourage strong character development, kindness, and integrity. We do offer an optional Bible curriculum available for separate purchase for families who would like to include faith-based learning. It is not mandatory and is designed to complement your family's beliefs and values.
