About Us

Mission
At Potter and Clay Academy, our mission is to partner with homeschool families to cultivate confident, curious, and compassionate learners. Through research-based instruction, meaningful relationships, and hands-on learning experiences, we equip children with the academic foundation, critical thinking skills, and character they need to thrive in school, in life, and in their communities.
Education is not preparation for life; education is life. itself." - John Dewey

Vision
We envision a world where homeschooling families never feel alone. We strive to create a thriving community where children develop a lifelong love of learning, parents find encouragement and connection, and every family is empowered to grow with confidence, purpose, and joy.
Children must be taught how to think, not what to think." - Margaret Meade

What Makes PACA Different
Every homeschool program is different. At Potter and Clay Academy, we've intentionally designed an approach that combines research-based instruction with joyful, hands-on learning and a supportive homeschool community. Our goal is to help children thrive academically while fostering confidence, curiosity, and meaningful relationships.
"Much of what young children do as play — singing, drawing, dancing — are natural forms of art. These activities engage all the senses and wire the brain for successful learning . " David Sousa

Brain-Based Learning
We believe children learn best when teaching aligns with how the brain naturally develops. Our classrooms combine movement, hands-on exploration, meaningful discussion, and multi-sensory instruction to help children understand and retain new concepts.
How we bring this to life:
-
✔ Multi-sensory activities
-
✔ Movement throughout the day
-
✔ Hands-on exploration
-
✔ Research-based instructional strategies
“If we are teaching brains, we should be using strategies that align with the ways that people consume and retain information.” - Dr. Marcia Tate
